PERN (Parents in Education Research Networks)

The Parents in Education Research Network (PERN) is a network of individuals and organisations concerned with the promotion, dissemination and application of research about the participation and effects of parents, families and carers in the education of children - in the home, in the school, in the community and more widely.

PERN aims to:
  • provide an exchange of information
  • provide a forum for discussion
  • encourage new research in the field (including collaborative research)
  • publish selected findings
  • promote the effective use of findings
  • influence policy makers
  • interact with other organisations concerned with research about Parents in Education
  • work with European partners as the English language network affiliated to ERNAPE (the European Research Network About Parents in Education).
