NORNAPE
NORDIC RESEARCH NETWORK ABOUT PARENTS IN EDUCATION (NORNAPE)
This network was established in 1993 under The Nordic Academy for Advanced Study. The purpose of the network is to work as a critical, informative, theory-generating base for:
1. studies of partnership between parents and teachers in education and local society;
2. training of doctoral researchers;
3. exchange of information between researchers and organisations dealing with the subject;
4. collecting information on research and development in this field in the Nordic countries.
The Nordic network NORNAPE is to be regarded as a satellite to/a branch of the EUROPEAN NETWORK OF RESEARCHERS ABOUT PARENTS IN EDUCATION - ERNAPE.
The network is interdisciplinary and the core network covers a great number of research fellows and doctor students from Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
Meetings have been held at various places in Scandinavia during the years 1993-2004. Later the network has met at the conferences of NERA (Nordic Educational Research Association) to which we are affiliated.
In each of the Nordic countries researchers continuously meet to discuss and to initiate national networks and interdisciplinary co-operation in this field of study.
