A) Call for chapters for the 2012 monograph from Diana B. Hiatt-Michael & Hsiu-Zu Ho:
A
call for chapter proposals and reviewers for 2012
Family-School-Community Partnership monograph focuses on father
engagement in children's education. To date studies on family
involvement reveals that mothers are the predominantly active member of
the family-school connection.
The
intent of this monograph is to capture cross-cultural and
cross-national perspectives regarding father involvement in the
family-school-community partnership. Please submit an abstract
(150-300 word maximum) of what your chapter would encompass as well as
a 1-2 page vita that includes your current position/affiliation,
contact information (email, phone, fax) and relevant
publications/practice on this topic to Hsiu-Zu Ho
(Ho@education.ucsb.edu) and Diana Michael-Hiatt
(dmichael@pepperdine.edu). For those who have already submitted a
proposal, we have yours on file. The due date for proposals is
September 10, 2011.
Drafts
of chapters are due on or before November 15, 2011. The submitted
chapter length should be between 12-25 double spaced pages without
references. All chapters for FSCP monographs are peer reviewed by other
members of the SIG. Please see attachment for reviewer’s criteria. The
chapter should follow APA edition 6.

B) Call for Collaboration from Anne Page FRSA:
Anne Page is interested in the development of school-parent partnerships. She has worked on several projects with the DCSF in England and she is planning for a further independent study of the potential for improving partnerships between schools and parents of teenagers in 2008-2009. The Family and Parenting Institute where she works at will be publishing several new publications in the autumn about parents in education.
They are also organising a "Parents' Week" (from Monday 20 October to Sunday 26) and the biennial "Parent Child 2008" conference (Thursday 13 and Friday 14 November 2008 ).

C) Call for Collaboration from Esther Sarphatie:
Esther
Sarphatie is the project leader of a network (Expertisenetwerk) in
Amsterdam on Parent Involvement at schools, primary and
secundary. Their website (in Dutch) is www.ouderbetrokkenheid.nl .
They advise and support 40 schools each year in involving parents
of their alumnees/students in order to improve the relation between
school (teacher/board) and parents. Moreover, they organise numerous
meetings in Amsterdam for schools, parents and the community of
Amsterdam (civil servants/professionals) to exchange experiences,
knowledge and best practices on parant participation. They develop
and apply several instruments and tools (handouts, manuals,
consultancies and training) that can help schools and parents to
improve their mutual relation and to stimulate children in their
schoolcareer. They also develop researchi nstruments for schools
to monitor the needs of parents, to evaluate their own activities and
to monitor their progress.
Because they intend to enlarge their network to an European
scale she would like to get in contact with other professionals
(researchers, project leaders etc) and organisations in the field
of parent participation to exchange experiences and knowledge.
