LoizosSymeou is Assistant Professor in Sociology of Education and Educational Research at the Department of Education Sciences of the European University-Cyprus. He is the Chair of the specific department. His areas of interest and publications are in the sociological investigation of school-parent-child relationships and how these link to cultural and social capital theory. Recent work includes a study of parent and children views about homework, and a study which examines the school experience of Roma/Gypsy children and families, a project funded by the European Commission Comenius programme.
